Leading up to Christmas, between November and December 2019, Grieg Green completed on average one project per week at the ship recycling facilities in Aliaga, Turkey, counting four vessels and three offshore platforms including semi-submersible drilling rigs and ultra-deepwater drilling ships from four separate owners.
Experts from Grieg Green have assisted the owners of these vessels through the entire ship and offshore recycling process. This includes arranging export/import approvals with respective governments, transparent financing, contract negotiations with the ship recycling facility, and project supervision and documentation of the HazMats removals, dismantling and waste handling.
All the ship recycling facilities that Grieg Green works at in Turkey are pre-approved by Grieg Green in accordance with the IMO Hong Convention for the Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships and the EU Ship Recycling Regulation.
