Petter Heier leaves Grieg Green

After eleven years as the head of Grieg Green, Petter Heier steps down as head of the company.

Grieg Green has been led by Petter Heier since its founding in 2010. After working for Grieg Star and seeing the challenges with securing sustainable recycling of old ships, he was also the man behind the business idea.

“It has been eleven thrilling years, from the first days trying to make our ideas work till our recent expanded service offering and solid reputation. We have built an exceptional team, and I am sad to be leaving them. But I feel it is time to let someone else take Grieg Green further,” says Petter Heier.

Grieg Green is in the process of hiring Mr Heier’s successor. Interim, Chair of Grieg Green and Grieg Maritime Group CEO Matt Duke takes on the responsibilities as Head of Grieg Green after Mr Heier leaves the company.

“The company is grateful for Petter’s contributions during his time, wherein he has worked hard to develop the business into one of the most successful ship and offshore recycling businesses worldwide.,” says Matt Duke.

A vital part of the new Head of Grieg Green’s job will be to expand the company’s global recycling, decommissioning, and IHM services while rigging the company for the future.
